Hitachi have announced the availability of 500GB 2.5" hard disk 5k500 worldwide from Feb 2008.

Note: this is a 3 platter 12.5mm drive. Not the traditional 2 platter 9.5mm notebook hard disk.

US$400 for 500GB, US$350 for 450GB

Pick-up available in NZ (Highland Park, south auckland) or Australia (Clayton, Victoria).
Cash, bank deposit (via electronic transfer) prefered.

(Retail) Terms and Conditions:

All Mp4 products carry 3 month warranty (or otherwise stated); 3 year warranty for Hitachi hard disk.
No charge for player repair work performed within warranty period. (Buyer pay for delivery back to repair centre.)
Repair performed beyond warranty period will carry a service charge.
All returns (within 7 days) must be as new and restocking fee of NZ/AU$50 per unit will apply.
We have the right to charge service for repair not related manufacturing defects.
