The end to IDE/PATA drives

Rumour has it that some manufacturers have stopped manufacturing PATA 2.5" hard drives.

Looking at the market, the absence of new PATA drive models does signify this point. The inquirer reported that Seagate's roadmap points to the end of IDE by the end of this year and everything will be SATA in the future...........this means that those who are still using PATA drives and looking for upgrades should do so before PATA disappears from the market!!!!!

I wonder what would happen in the 2.5" mp3/mp4/pmp market though.....since no one seems to be making any SATA based players........
